Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.

A focused toolkit for people who actually train. No social feed, no leaderboard, no pop-ups asking for a streak.

  1. Build custom workouts

Combine reps, time, and rest. Reorder exercises, repeat sets, save your favorite routines. The plan adapts to how you train, not the other way around.

  2. Real-time exercise timer

A quiet, beautiful countdown ring. It carries you through every set and rest interval, so you can stay in the work and out of the spreadsheet.

  3. Body measurements & charts

Log weight, body composition, lifts. Watch monthly trend lines reveal the shape of your progress — without a single chart that lies to you.

  4. Pre-filled exercise library

Hundreds of exercises, sorted by muscle group, ready to drop into a routine. Drag, edit, save. Build a year’s worth of training in an afternoon.

How it works

Three steps. Then the work.

  1. Compose

Pick exercises from the library, set reps, time, and rest between sets.

  2. Execute

Tap start. The timer counts down each set and rest. Add notes as you go.

  3. Observe

Log measurements after sessions. Watch the curves climb week after week.

Pocket Workout Planner is built around one loop: compose the plan, execute it with the timer, observe what changes. The app stays out of your way during the set, then gives you something to look back on. No social feed, no streak, no notification spam — just your routine, your timer, and your numbers, in your pocket.

Who it’s for

Built for people who actually train.

If you log sets and want a tool that respects your time, this is for you.

  • Lifters chasing PRs

Plan splits, log every working set, and watch your top lifts trend up over weeks and months. Body weight, key lifts, and waist size on a single chart.

  • Hybrid athletes

Mix strength, conditioning, and skill work in one routine. Reps, time, and rest interleave cleanly, so a Crossfit-style session lives next to a powerlifting day.

  • Runners adding strength

Drop two or three short strength sessions into the week without setting up a spreadsheet. The timer keeps rests honest; the chart keeps you accountable.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is it free?

Yes. The core planner, timer, and history are free. A Premium subscription unlocks unlimited measurements, advanced charts, and future power-user features.

Who is Pocket Workout Planner for?

People who actually train: lifters tracking PRs, hybrid athletes mixing strength and conditioning, and runners adding two or three strength sessions a week. If you want a focused tool to plan a routine, time your sets, and watch your progress climb, this is for you.

How is it different from Strong, Hevy, or Apple Fitness?

No social feed, no leaderboard, no streak guilt, no account. Pocket Workout Planner is a single-purpose tool. Your data lives on your iPhone — no signup, no cloud, no advertising. The countdown timer is built for the active set, not designed around a feed.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your data lives on your device. No account required, no internet needed to plan or train.

Does it support supersets, circuits, and rest timers between sets?

Yes. Combine reps and time-based exercises, repeat blocks, and set per-set rest intervals. The countdown handles each set and rest in sequence, so a circuit feels as natural as a straight-set session.

What languages are supported?

The iOS app ships in English and Spanish. The website is also available in French, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Portuguese, and German.

Where is my data stored?

Locally on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device SwiftData. Your routines and history never leave your phone unless you choose to share them.

Will my plans sync between iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad?

Pocket Workout Planner is iPhone-only today, with an Apple Watch companion that syncs automatically with your phone during sessions. iPad support is on the roadmap. Cross-device cloud sync is not currently offered — your iPhone stays the source of truth.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

Yes. Pocket Workout Planner ships with an Apple Watch companion app. Start, pause, and step through your sets straight from your wrist — your iPhone stays the source of truth and everything syncs automatically.

Can I export my workout history?

Export is on the near-term roadmap. Today, your data stays on the device by design — once export ships, it will write a portable file you can keep with the rest of your training records.

How do I cancel Premium?

Premium is a regular App Store subscription. Manage or cancel any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
